Angus Allan

Angus has served on the Boards of several organisations, including: two colleges; The Energy Skills Partnership; The Environmental Association for Universities and Colleges; and Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park Authority. He was a non-executive director of a company specialising in cyber security solutions and is currently a trustee of Abbeyfield house, Strathaven. After running a Beef, Sheep and Arable Farm north of Inverness, he had a career in education, was an accredited sheep shearing instructor and the “Land-based” lead specialist for HM Inspectorate of Education. He was a senior manager in three different colleges, retiring in 2020 from the role of Depute Principal at South Lanarkshire College. A keen sailor and hillwalker, he runs an agriculture and forestry smallholding and enjoys restoring old Landrovers. He was an annual volunteer at a SU summer Holiday held at Alltnacriche and is currently one of the volunteer helpers at Gowanbank. Angus is a Trustee and Elder in his local Church, Avendale and Drumclog and is passionate about the vision of SU to enable children and young people to explore the Bible and respond to the significance of Jesus.
