We recognise that a standard SU Holiday for young people from Scotland's poorest communities may be one or two steps too far. That's why we have been delivering Motiv8 Holidays for more than 15 years offering the same life-changing time away, but with the extra support and more relaxed boundaries that young people may require.
Partnering with local churches and youth projects, we want Motiv8 Holidays to be residential experiences for young people where they can grow in friendships and faith.
Motiv8 Holidays are more suited for young people who may benefit from:

All Motiv8 Holidays are heavily subsidised through the generosity of supporters through the SU Holidays Sponsorship Fund.

Volunteer on a Motiv8 Holiday
You don't need to have had experience of working with young people from priority communities (socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds), although that would certainly help. What you do need is a willingness to learn, lots of energy, patience, and a heart to see children and young people from difficult backgrounds meet Jesus.
Motiv8 Holidays are demanding physically, emotionally and spiritually. In recognition of this, Motiv8 Holidays offer a weekend of team training and building before the young people arrive, to get to know each other and advice on working with more challenging young people.
