Regional Worker, Moray and South Highlands and Islands
Archie joined the SU Scotland staff part-time in early 2024 while still working in an Aberdeenshire school and fulfilling responsibilities with his church in Inverurie. He’ll move to Elgin over the summer and join us full-time. He is currently focussing on rebuilding connections in Moray and will take over the South Highlands and Islands responsibility from Colin Carmichael in the summer. The region will then cover from Cullen to South Uist and have its first dedicated staff member since Alan Myles moved to be our Holidays Manager in May 2020.
There are a handful of SU Groups meeting in primary and secondary schools across this area. Young people have been joining others from across the Highlands or from North East and Shetland at our Alltnacriche weekends. Several schools from the Moray area also use Alltnacriche for their residential week as part of the school curriculum. We look forward to building on each of these aspects of SU Scotland work as we work to connect schools, churches and volunteers across the region in groupings that reflect the clusters of schools around each high school.
