SU Scotland Centres have many volunteering opportunities and would love to hear from people who enjoy cooking, gardening, cleaning or DIY. Even if you feel you don't have a particular skill but would like to be part of the team, our Centre staff would love to hear from you.
If you are wondering what it might look like to volunteer at a centre click on the links to hear Derek's experience of being a Catering Volunteer and helping with Bike Maintenance.

Volunteer Training
Archery and archery tag sessions at SU Scotland events may be delivered by volunteers who are trained to do so. Training gives you the skills needed to lead safe and enjoyable activity sessions, as well as to perform quick and basic equipment maintenance during an event. Note: The courses provided by SU Scotland are internal qualifications and are not certified.
- Archery, initial training (or if previous training was more than 3 years ago) is a two day course.
- Archery Renewal, training needs to be renewed every 3 years and this can only be done by attending Day 2 or by arranging to run some sessions at an SU Scotland centre under observation.
- Archery Tag, this is a half day course and is renewed every 3 years.

All Volunteering Opportunities
We are looking for people who share the vision to see every child and young person in Scotland exploring the Bible and responding to the significance of Jesus.
Volunteers have always been at the heart of SU Scotland, contributing time and commitment. Around 2,500 people, aged 16 years upwards, are part of an SU Scotland team every year, working with children and young people to provide all those vital support tasks that make it possible to deliver such a wide range of activities.
The areas you can get involved with include:
- Residential events – Weekends, SU Holidays, Magnitude, Young Leader Training
- Missions (Holiday Clubs) - based in local communities and connect with children in their home environment. Teams for these events usually include local Christians as well as volunteers from elsewhere
- Schools – working in and with schools though SU Groups, Bible Alive and more
- Connect Groups and Gaming Groups – in person and online groups that meet regularly across the year
