- Location: Gowanbank, Darvel
- Contract: Part-time (4 days/30 hours), Fixed-term (3 years) – open to part-time or full-time opportunities
- Salary: £27, 156 - £28,988 (FTE, dependent on experience) + generous pension & benefits

Are you passionate about outdoor adventure, youth work, and faith-based engagement? We’re looking for an Adventure Outreach Instructor to join our team at Gowanbank, helping young people—especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds—grow in confidence, resilience, and faith through exciting outdoor experiences.
- Build partnerships with schools, charities, and community organisations to support young people in need.
- Lead multi-day school residentials and one-day adventure sessions blending outdoor activities, team building, and faith exploration.
- Create and deliver engaging new events that promote resilience, community, and personal growth.
- Guide young people through the DERF (Discover, Explore, Respond, Flourish) framework, helping them explore and develop their faith.
- Support SU Holidays and outreach initiatives, collaborating with staff and volunteers to provide life-changing experiences.
Who We Are Looking For
- Experience working with young people, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
- At least two NGB outdoor qualifications and a strong track record of leading outdoor activities.
- A passion for youth development, faith-based mentoring, and adventure-based learning.
- A committed Christian who aligns with SU Scotland’s ethos and vision (Occupational Requirement under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1).
