Appropriate first aid training is an essential component for anyone looking after young people. This course will be ideal to equip an individual to provide the basic first aid at an SU Scotland event.
The course curriculum covers the principles of first aid and how to respond to cardiac arrest, choking, bleeding, allergies, asthma, epilepsy & seizures and injuries, including caring for causalities while you await the arrival of an ambulance or medical professional.
Caring for a casualty in the outdoors is included in the training. Participants should come prepared to spend part of the day outdoors.
This is a certified course and includes both practical and theoretical assessments.
The course is free for SU Scotland Volunteers. If your able please make a donation towards the cost of the course. For information the cost for each person on the course is approximately £60.
