Summary

We’re looking forward to a great day joining together as the SU family to celebrate all that God has been doing through SU ministry in this past year, and to hear a little bit about what’s coming up. There’s something for all ages and a chance to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Lendrick Muir; stay for all or part of the day, catch up with old friends and get to know some new people. There’s so much to give thanks for and it’s great to do that together.

Main Session 1 (children’s programme and creche during both main sessions)

Worship, Bible teaching with Stephen Jones, highlights of the past year of ministry, updates and stories from Holidays and Missions, plus an update on the SU strategy for 2024-27Part of that strategy is so see the creation of local ministry hubs around every high school cluster in Scotland to enable joined up prayer and ministry to children and young people in local communitiesThere will be an opportunity to find out more about what that could look like in your area.

Opportunity to meet local workers from your area and find out more about local ministry clusters and how you could get involved.

Afternoon options

  • Enjoy Lendrick Muir activities – king swing, bungee trampoline or gladiator challenge, bouncy castle, or just get a group of friends together to play football or nukemball. 

  • Enter a team in the Lendrick Muir 25th Anniversary Generation Game 

  • Join the AGM 

  • Enjoy coffee and cake in the café or a treat from the crepe van or Wee Pink Trailer

Standing in the gap for those at the margins – praying about poverty and justice in Scotland  with Tim Raynes and Elizabeth McDowall 

25% of Scotland’s children and young people living in relative poverty is due to rise to 38% by 2030. How do we as SU Scotland respond? Come and join us to pray. 

Additional Support Needs (ASN) Updates with Elaine Tait 

Come and meet Elaine Tait, our new ASN Development Coordinator, hear what is developing within SU Scotland for children and young people with ASNs and receive a takeaway resource to help you support neurodiverse children and young people. 

Bible Alive with Lesley Crawford and Valerie Sim 

Bible Alive is a fun, interactive programme to teach children in P5-P7 the story of the Bible as part of the RME curriculum. Join us to find out more about Bible Alive, to hear stories of the impact it has, and to learn about the training we offer for those hoping to take Bible Alive into their local schools. 

STORIES OF THANKSGIVING FROM THE SUMMER  

Join Alan Myles, Holidays Manager, and Bruce Lockhart, Missions Development Manager, as they share the wonderful ways God has blessed us. Hear firsthand miraculous stories, both big and small, each significant in demonstrating what God is doing. This is a chance to praise God as we humbly testify to what he has done. 

Catering

If you’re spending the whole day at Lendrick Muir you can bring a packed lunch to enjoy in the grounds. Alternatively there will be some options to purchase lunch or dinner.

Lunch and dinner options – please pre-book, you will receive a confirmation email and payment will be on arrival on the day at the Lendrick Muir office. 

BOOKINGS FOR LUNCH AND DINNER WILL CLOSE ON MONDAY 19TH AUGUST.

  • Lunch option - £3 per person
    • Soup, scone, crisps, fruit and biscuit

  • Dinner options - £7 per person (includes ice cream and juice)
    • Option 1 Chicken Korma with Rice and Naan bread

    • Option 2 Veggie Meatballs (meat alternative) with Garlic Bread and Salad

Home baking and coffee will be available in the café from 1-4pm. Payment on the day.

Lendrick Muir Generation Game

Join your hosts Elisabeth and Ros for the Lendrick Muir rendition of the fun family game show, The Generation Game.

Rounds will be themed around the teams at Lendrick Muir as pairs from different generations battle it out in games including Speed Folding Bed Sheets and Cake Decorating. And what Generation Game would be complete without the legendary conveyor belt!

If you have a competitive side and enjoy big laughs, enter as a contestant with a family member, or friend. Or join us as part of the audience and cheer on the competitors. It’s sure to be an afternoon full of laughter and unforgettable fun as we celebrate Lendrick Muir’s door being open for 25 years.
